Individual Therapy

I provide individual therapy for adults in Kentucky. My services are all virtual, so I can see you from wherever you are located in Kentucky and from the comfort of your own home!

Sessions are 50-minutes and are typically scheduled weekly at first. Session frequency may change (I.e., every other week) as we get further into working together.

I offer free 15-minute consultations. Click here to schedule one today.

Fees

50-minute sessions are $150 per session.

I do reserve a few reduced-rate spots for people with financial difficulties. Please reach out to me for more information.

I do not accept insurance. Dependent on your “out of network” benefits (contact your insurance provider for more information), I can provide you with a “Superbill” which you can send to your insurance company for possible partial or full reimbursement.

You can’t be there for everyone else if you are running on empty.

How much longer can I keep this up?

You are always there for everyone around you. Ignoring your needs and making yourself small to take care of other people. You are taking care of everyone around you by:

  • Bottling up all your feelings, especially your anger, sadness, frustration, and fears, so that you don’t hurt, worry, or inconvenience someone else. Their comfort is always more important than your needs and wants.

  • Going out of your way to avoid any and all conflict.

  • Always being the “strong one” or “a rock” for the people in your life. Everyone around you thinks you are doing fine, (maybe even great!), even when you feel anything but fine. You keep your smile on though. You don’t want to worry anyone, or be a burden.

  • Keeping a wall up between you and the rest of the world. You’re afraid of getting too close to others. Trusting others is hard and you don’t want them to hurt or reject you, so you keep them at a distance.

  • Hiding parts of who you are. Your likes, dislikes, opinions, values, beliefs, and maybe even parts of your identity are kept to yourself. You’ve been told throughout your life who you “should” be and anything that goes against that is hidden away.

Some days you are exhausted. You are feeling alone. Maybe you have some people in your life, but it doesn’t feel like you can really be yourself around them. They can see the happy, smiling, fun you, but not the other parts. You are wanting to open up, be seen, and be vulnerable, but that feels like the scariest thing in the world. What if they reject you when they get to know the real you?

But I’ve always handled everything on my own…

Yes you have... You’ve been doing the absolute best that you can and have been taking on more then any one person can be expected. Maybe you’ve handled everything on your own because you’ve had to. Relying fully on yourself has worked, and it has felt safer than trusting other people. But you know it’s not enough - it’s left you lonely, isolated, and exhausted. You’ve been tackling every challenge and taking care of everyone on your own for so long, you aren’t even sure how to go about asking for and receiving support.

But you deserve support. I understand that reaching out for help right now is terrifying! But you’ve made it this far already, and I want to help you live your life as your full self.

My clients come to me and want to live their lives differently. They are tired of making themselves small for the comfort of everyone around them. They want to reconnect with who they are, embrace their full selves, and share their true selves with people they care about to create deep, meaningful relationships.

That’s where I can help. I will meet you where you are. I understand that if you are not used to asking for support, therapy might feel very unnatural, weird, and maybe even scary for you. Therapy is not the same for every person, and we will move at a pace that works for you.

I believe the most important aspect of therapy is creating a beneficial, trusting, professional, and therapeutic relationship between myself and my clients. In order to do the brave thing of trying something new, I know we need a safe foundation. I will spend time working to learn about you, your experiences, your identities, and your circumstances, and we will work together to understand how the different aspects of you come together and impact you now.

Together, we will work to be aware of what is working for you and what you want to change. We will explore different ways of doing things. And ultimately, we will work together to practice, try, learn, and apply new skills, understanding, and knowledge to achieve your goals.

You are the expert in you and I know ways to help. Together, we can help you to embrace yourself, deepen your relationships, and find a balance that works for you between your needs and the expectations of others. Let’s chat.

Embracing your full self is within your reach!

My goal with my clients is to help you:

  • Understand yourself and how you are impacted by your experiences, identities, and the world around you.

  • Explore new ways of expressing yourself, connecting with others, allowing yourself to take up space, and prioritizing your own needs.

  • Embrace your authentic self and share your authentic self with the world in the ways that you want.

We will schedule a free 15-minute consultation to talk about your concerns, goals for therapy, and any questions you have. Then we will schedule our intake appointment to talk more to get a sense of what your needs in therapy are and how I can help you reach your goals.

What we talk about together is confidential (except in situations of safety which we will review in the intake session!). It’s completely normal to feel vulnerable, scared, and unsure when you are starting therapy. The pace we move at, what you share, and how we approach achieving your goals is up to you. I will kindly and gently push you towards your goals as needed so that therapy is not only a safe place to open up but also a brave space to try something new.

Your courage, strength, and desire for something different has gotten you this far. Let’s chat! Click below to schedule your free 15-minute consultation. I’d be honored to start getting to know the real you.
